Bart & Angela - I do
Posted : 03/09/2010 01:32:49

There's just some couples that are meant to be together and Bart and Angela are the perfect example of that. From the first time i met them it was clear they were getting married for all the right reasons. They were one of the most relaxed couples i've worked with and the wedding was one of those ceremonies that gave you the warm and fuzzies because you could just see the excitement and joy beaming from both of their faces. Bart and Angela travelled from Mt Isa to enjoy their wedding with family and friends at the beautiful Canoe Point. These guys have been waiting very patiently to see their images so as promised...here's a handful of shots from the day.

Connie & Shane's beach wedding
Posted : 02/09/2010 02:09:42

There's something magical about the beach so it's no suprise to me why Connie and Shane Emerson chose to have their wedding ceremony on the sand. And what a lovely ceremony it was. Family and friends gathered at Canoe Point to share Connie and Shane's special day. Outdoor ceremonies can be tricky to shoot if the elements are fierce but the weather was kind to us on Saturday (apart from the wind) with a lovely overcast day which is ideal for portrait photography. It's so much nicer having the luxary to shoot away without having to worry about harsh shadows produced by the sun. The sound of an acoustic guitar filled the air while the groom and the guests waited on the beach in anticipation for the bride to walk the rose petal isle. Connie was a stunning bride and the colours she chose suited the beach theme perfectly. Here's a sneak peak of the Emerson wedding...i hope Connie and Shane are relaxing on their island honeymoon.

It takes a whole entourage of people to help with finishing touches.

I just love Connie's colour scheme.

The girls having a laugh as they make their way to the beach. Connie was super calm the whole time.

And this is when the nerves set in...Connie shares a moment with her maid of honour before walking the stairs.

Shane was just happy to be there :)

And the first kiss as husband and wife.

The rose petals on the sand was a lovely touch.

And of course...the boys had to have a go too!

A few weekends ago i was sitting at home itching to get outdoors with my camera and thinking about potential locations in this lovely little town of Boyne Island. Normally i spend my free weekends doing as little as possible without even looking at the camera that i spend most of my days with. I like to have at least one day where i do something different just to relax and unwind. But on this particular weekend i was ultra keen to get out and snap away. It was a beautiful day...middle of a typical Central Queensland winter...blue sky and the sun shining so i went for a drive to scout out the area. I'm the type of person who spends most of my days dreaming of all the foreign countries i want to visit...Italy, Greece, Spain, France, Mexico...the list is absolutely endless...but on a perfect day here in Boyne/Tannum i feel content and pretty lucky to have been raised in such a laid back and lovely place. So anyway, i had a think about the who, what, when, where and how (nerdy journo coming out in me)...and called Robyn and roped her into being my subject for the shoot. Robyn is expecting her second baby in a little over four weeks now and i thought she wouldn't mind me dragging her out for a practice shoot. So off we went to try some outdoor maternity pics at Boyne beach...it's not used as much as some of the other locations around here so thought i would give it a try. Anyway, here's some pics from the day...it was great working with a friend and fellow photographer as Robyn was patient and keen to try and suggest lots of different things.

Photobucket

I love this one for Robyn's expression...a very proud mum indeed.

This one is a little soft but there's just something about it i just love.

So there you have it...a potentially boring day at home turned into a fun afternoon at the beach and gave me the chance to practice some maternity pics which Robyn will no doubt be happy to have as keep sakes to one-day share with her lovely baby xo

Well here it comes! Yep...wedding season is well and truely upon us and the next few months is going to be a crazy blur of all things i-do! I think we calculated something like 7 weeks in a row of wedding hype not to mention the weeks of post production madness. Before you know it we will be stiing here singing cheesy Christmas carols to each other and laughing about how quickly this year vanished into thin air! It's an exciting time for our bride's and grooms to be and we wish them all the very best for their future lives together. Katie and Pat are set to enjoy their spring wedding in two weeks time and judging from our e-shoot yesterday, these guys are going to be vey relaxed and alot of fun! Here's a few pics from yesterday's shoot.

Katie's brother has a boat at the marina so we had a play around in the afternoon sun.

I can't wait to get these guys on the boat again especially in all their wedding attire.

Thanks for a fun afternoon Katie and Pat!

We bundled her up and she started to get a little sleepy.

Then she crashed out for a while.
